Safety First!
Before plugging into a socket, make sure that the adapter is appropriate for the local voltage. This is especially important when travelling overseas. The Emjoi Gently Gold Caress can be used either as a cordless rechargeable device or by connecting to an electrical outlet. Before using the Emjoi Gently Gold Caress for the first time as a rechargeable device, the batteries should be charged for,
at least, 16 hours. Thereafter, it is highly recommended that Emjoi Gently Gold Caress device be recharged after every use.

For best results, follow these simple steps:
- Make sure that hair removal areas are clean and dry, and are free of cream or oil. For most efficient results, use your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress in a location with a comfortable temperature in order to avoid perspiration.
- Position your Emjoi Gently Gold Caress so that the gold discs are upright in relation to the skin surface. Switch the unit on and gently glide it in short, quick brush-like strokes in any direction.
- Repeat within each area until all unwanted hair is removed. The time required to remove unwanted hair depends on the quantity and density of the users hair. After several months of repeated use, there may be a reduction of hair growth in a given area, and the remaining hair may be thinner and finer.
Note: For your protection, your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress may slow down, or stop operation completely, if it is pressed too hard against the skin.
- Clean your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress after every use.
Note: Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet before cleaning. Never use your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress near or over water (for example, over a filled sink, bathtub or the shower) and do not use powders or other abrasives to clean the unit. To Clean the Golden Discs: Remove the disc cover by pressing the cover release button and pulling the cover up. Next, brush the golden disks on all sides, using the brush provided with the unit. Finally, close the cover. Your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress is now ready for its next use.
- Your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress can be safely used on the bikini line. If the bikini line hair is too long (usually after a long period when the hair has not been removed), first trim the hair with a scissors or trimmer. Afterwards, you can safely use your Emjoi Gently Gold Caress to remove the unwanted hair from the root to achieve a smooth and beautiful bikini line for weeks to come.
- You can use your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress to remove individual hairs from your face or body.
- Initially, use your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress about once a week. These touch-ups will help weaken your hair and keep your skin constantly smooth. Weekly hair removal is recommended for users with sensitive skin as this makes the process even more gentle and takes only a few minutes.
Some Important Precautions
Never reach for an EMJOI Gently Gold Caress that has fallen into water - immediately unplug it. Do not use the unit while bathing or in the shower.
Do not place or store your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress where it can fall or be pulled by the power cord into a tub or sink.
Always unplug your Emjoi Gently Gold Caress when it is not in use, unless it is being recharged, or before cleaning it.
WARNING - To reduce the risk of burns, fire or electric shock, never leave your EMJOI® Gently Gold Caress unattended when plugged in.
This appliance is not to be used by, on, or near children.
Use EMJOI Gently Gold Caress only for its intended purpose, as described in these instructions.
Regular cleaning and good maintenance ensures optimum results and will extend the useful lifetime of your EMJOI Gently Gold Caress. It is highly recommended that before every recharge, the Emjoi Gently Gold Caress device should be fully discharged, by unplugging it from the electrical outlet and then switching it on until the batteries run out.
Keep the protective cap on the appliance when it is not in use.
Do not use EMJOI Gently Gold Caress if you have varicose veins, spots or blemishes, or when your skin is irritated. Consult your health care provider before use.
Regular skin massaging with a massaging glove or loofa can help prevent ingrown hairs.
The use of an epilator may cause reddening or irritation of the skin. This is a normal reaction which will quickly disappear. However, if the irritation remains for more than three days consult your health care provider.
When the unit is switched on, prevent accidents and damage by keeping it away from the hair on your head, your eyelashes and eyebrows, as well as from clothes, brushes, wires, cords, etc.
When not used as a rechargeable unit, only use (and charge) your Emjoi Gently Gold Caress with the adapter supplied with the unit.
